From Melbourne

It is consistently rated among the most liveable cities in the world. It is the sporting capital of the world, Australia’s second largest city (and on track to become its largest), and home to one of the most culturally diverse communities. These are images from Melbourne.

I moved to Melbourne by choice in 2007, and have made it my home. I have gone through the different phases of moving to a new nation and city, and making a new home, and over time, I have come to appreciate it as one of the best places in the world that one can hope to live in. 18 months ago, I took it upon myself to put together a time-lapse video to celebrate this amazing city that is now my home.

After hundreds of hours of shooting and post processing, I finally bring this video to you.

Enjoy, and if you like the video, do leave a thumbs-up and comment below.

This video is made up of over 13,000 individually shot frames that were photographed over a period spanning more than 18 months. I had no idea about what I was undertaking when I started. I made a few mistakes along the way, and learnt a few lessons in the process.

The images that make this video were all shot with a Canon 5D Mark II using a 17-40mm lens or a 24-105mm lens. I used a combination of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, LR Time-Lapse, Adobe Premiere, Nik Color Efex, Topaz Adjust, and Noiseware to make this video.

Sound effects were sourced from FreeSFX.com, MediaCollege.com, and GRSites.com.

The music track is a creative commons piece titled “H8 of Love” by Feveria from the Album “Past Time Reflections”.
