Jupiter and its moons
I haven’t posted anything for a while, and I felt that something was in order. This is an older video that I dug up from back in 2014. It was shot with a consumer grade camcorder which had an awesome zoom in June 2014 from the Southern Hemisphere. The large white dot is the planet Jupiter. The three smaller dots that appear are three of its moons. This video was shot over a period of 20 minutes with the camcorder mounted on a tripod in an area with very high degrees of light pollution (it was filmed from my balcony in the heart of Melbourne). The planets are fuzzy and out of focus. Nonetheless, you get a sense of the Jovian system.
