Kyoto in Time Lapse

This is the second of two short films that I shot in Japan during my trip there in October 2016, and comes from Kyoto.

Japan is a nation of paradoxes.

This technologically advanced nation has its culture deeply entrenched in centuries of tradition. No culture does gardens better than the Japanese, and there are some of them that will allow you to find your inner Zen.

While Tokyo embodies the large, cosmopolitan metropolis, Kyoto is a throwback to traditional Japan, and offers one a taste of life in Japan as one may have read about as a child. In this short film, we visit several Shrines, a fabled path, and the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest.
